Coffeepartyusa.com a “fraud”?

I do not make these sorts of accusations without them having some merit. Let me explain.

Today I noticed an article on the “Coffee Party”; Supposedly, these are openminded individuals who love America, believe in citizen governance, but differ from the Tea Party in that they want our politicians to “get together” and get things done. Hmm, I thought, are these people for real?

Upon checking out their website, all seemed nice and moderate. The young lady on the opening video was well spoken and attractive. I signed up, and watched a video I found very interesting called “US Army Veteren: Tea Party doesn’t represent me”. Fine, I thought, lets see what he has to say.

Soon I realized the goal: Talk reasonably about such things as the Constitution, and “fiscal Conservatism”, but then interject how badly we need Govt to do it’s job. I decided to leave a comment, and see what sort of responses I would get. Here is what I wrote:

With all due respect to Alan, especially for his service to our country, I have to wonder about his true beliefs.

At first I hear some great things, such as the fact that we need to reduce spending, preserve Constitutional liberties, ect. But as I listen further, this stance seems to soften, becoming more “Well, but we need Govt program A costing 2 trillion dollars” Or “We need to let illegals have amnesty because we can’t really send them back”. No offense, but these are not the words of a fiscal Conservative or any sort of Conservative, Sir. It might be more of a “John McCain” variety, but certainly not Reagan.

I am intrigued by the idea of the “Coffee Party” movement, being a member of the Tea Party movement myself. So far, it seems to be a “Suicide is painless” sort of outreach to a small minority of people who want to have “Mommy Govt” provide our every need. Sure, they seem to say that the American people are the boss, but then go on to say they want to command our Politicians to enact legislation that will break the US economy.

I think this is silly and reckless. Further, I assume that the Coffee Party respects the lives of our children enough to not stick them with the bill for their Liberalism. You do, right?

What confuses me is the duality of your message:

1. We are the bosses of the Govt (I agree)

2. We want the govt to enact harmful legislation when Social Security and Medicare are already going broke. (this I do not understand)

Respectfully, I ask for an explanation.

This is what came up when I clicked “Preview”:

I think that there are 2 that should be tackled in tandem. Healthcare is a done deal. It may not be what EVERYONE wants, but it does have some legs to it, and now the only direction that this issue can go is up now. In other words, the foundation of keeping the insurance companies at bay with FORCING them to pay for the coverage that they are supposed to be giving their customers in the first place; which is pathetic in itself! The 2 issues that we need to take care of now SIMULTANEOUSLY is job creation AND financial reform. We NEED jobs, so that is self explanatory; however, I feel that finance is where America needs to fix ASAP! Wall Street has their hands in EVERYTHING: Healthcare, Environment reform, Immigration(big business racing to the bottom with wages) reform, ELECTIONS, etc. Money moves EVERYTHING! We need to monitor and regulate the flow of ALL funding in our country. We need regulate campaign contributions, PAC contributions, questionable investment vehicles, money trading, etc. I feel that money is the trunk of the tree and all the other issues are the branches. Take care of the source, and the others will follow along by necessity

At first I thought I was looking at someone elses comment, but after trying several times to get my own comments to post, I realized that this might not be a mistake. I then made sure to quickly copy this to this blog entry, so as to keep a record, then hit “save”.

As of this writing (9:11 am central) my comment is still under moderation. Will the false comment shilling for big Govt be posted? Or will my original comments? Only time will tell.

Basically, I smell a rat.

Update (8:25 pm central): So far there is no post, either the one I actually posted OR the fraudulant one. Perhaps they simply deleted it, which is almost as bad. I will continue to monitor.

Update (6:54 am central): I noticed that a poster on Hotair.com has a full profile of “Coffee Party” umm founder, Annabel Park. Let’s just say that she appears “hand picked” for the project.

I posted another comment on the site, or at least attempted to this morning. Upon hitting “preview” I simply saw a single message, “test”.
Perhaps their site is not working? For a well funded tool of the Left, one would think they would have their act together enough to post comments.

OK! Sell your Coffee shares now!

I went ahead and broke down the video she had. Here is my take on it.

At :17 into the video she says the Tea Party is not a representative of America.

At :40 She says the coffeparty is an alternative. {something that is an opposite is not an alternative. It’s the other side of the tracks. If you are looking for a house to buy, say in the $200,000 range, the realtor isn’t going to show you a $75,000 as an alternative}.

NOTE-Every time she says “obstruction” she is referring to the Republicans or tea party.

At 1:30 she uses the term “deliberate misinformation”. It doesn’t take a genius to know that is the definition of a lie.

At 1:40 she says the coffee party wants to hold the people accountable for obstructions. WTF?

At 2:15 talks about people fearing demographic changes. WTF?

At 2:40 Says the politicians exploiting fear of change are the worst. Another reference to the Republicans.

At 3:00 Says they are in line with fiscal conservatism but can’t even consider it at this point. hahahahahahaha laugh my head off! What a freaking joke!

At 3:49 talks about congress working for us, not corporations. I think this is a stab at the supreme courts latest ruling on campaign funds.

MOST IMPORTANT! AT 4:17 she says “We need people to get out of the way”. WTF X20!!

Excuse my fowl typing but I doubt youngsters are reading this.
You will see far left organizations latch on to this BS in a heartbeat. It’s almost cosmical.

This must be their motto. “Mock the Tea Party, Hate them, Ridicule them, Spit in their face, and if that doesn’t work, Make your own!” What a freakin joke!!!

    Rock on and Stay Free!

This is the video I have broken down.

Fantastic breakdown, LCR. I was in a rush this morning (I had to leave town) but the modus operandi seemed pretty clear: Pretend we are the Tea party, but that Leftism is now cool, fiscally Conservative, and respective of the Constitution. Sure, yup.

Thanks for the comment, MadJewess. Yes, Haddan is quite the guy. He is one of my favorite Brits, right up there with Lord Monckton.

Thanks for your comment! I’m not from there, but I also hope the Brits won’t be reelecting the Labour party. Sorry to post this as a comment, but I’m relatively new to blogging and have no idea how to send you a personal message.. I’d love to link our blogs, if you’d like (and if I can find where to do it from..) 😉

In a very sinister way, this is genius. If voters can be convinced that this is an alternative or offshoot to the tea party (although as LCR said above, “An opposite is not an alternative,”–at least not in the manner it’s portrayed), then the conflicting goals and messages could serve to turn voters off to the tea party.

One of my biggest concerns about the tea party movement is that it is leaderless. I realize that’s partly what makes it a grass-roots, authentic movement, but I worry that if real leaders don’t emerge–and soon, then the tea party is subject to tricks like the one you’ve highlighted above, or worse, mob mentality.

What I would like to see from the TP movement is a refocus of the GOP’s thinking, returning Republicans to their small-government roots. The Republicans we’ve seen in recent years have been Blue Dog Democrats with an (R) after their name.

I agree, I think people who closely listen to what people say will not be fooled. But some, who act on imagery alone, might be.

Yes, the Republicans were playing RINO during the Bush era, and we will stay vigilant about that. Right now, I am afraid all we can do is stop this horrible attempt to cut the nation’s throat. After that, we need a goal of ensuring and checking the records of our elected officials, then eject them if they don’t ante up.

We were always thought to have and educated electorate. I doubt that our founding fathers could have conceived of illegal aliens coming here and demanding civil rights, medical care, ect.

I am a member of the coffee party. I am also a born-again, conservative, pro-life democrat evangelical christian that believes that social security should be privatized to a certain degree, and healthcare should be paid for (although is should be provided). We promote the expression of people’s opinions and their party affiliation. We DO NOT WANT a homeogenous population. We would like people from both parties who are willing to sit down in a civil manner and have a honest debate about our view, opinions and the direction of the country. You should attend one of our kick off parties and express your view of American politics. We would love to hear from you. Our only request is that everyone remain civil. We want everyone to have a voice.

    • March 5, 2010 at 1:36 pm

It is good to hear from you, but do you think the Coffee Party best serves you? It seems that it is nothing more than a vehicle of some of Obama’s followers designed to effect the passage of Socialized Healthcare. If you are Conservative, then you must realize that Govt does not privatize without great force, and programs such as Obamacare never become smaller or less expensive–rather, they explode in size over time.

Think about it, Social Security and Medicare are going broke. Our nation is affixed to thin ties to both Democratic rule and Liberty. We see our national debt exploding, impoverishing our children. Sure, we can be compassionate, but we don’t want or need Socialism.

Right now everyone does get Healthcare, they can go to any Emergency room and get care if they want. I know that there are improvements we can make to our system, but should we through the baby out with the bathwater? I disagree with that view.

Look at what we have to look forward to with another expansion of Government: Immense debt, poor care (look at England), dismissive and unfireable Govt bureaucrats, and control of the individual via their own “right” the Healthcare.

If you are asking me if I am willing to trade my own Liberty and that of America’s children for a Utopian dream (and it is a false dream) then I must say no.

Thank you for your comment, and I would like to invite you to your local Tea Party. Once you meet us, you will know the best side to be on.
