Doctor Heal thyself

Youtube clip: Just another example of the tolerance of the Left from Janeane Garafalo and Rosie O’Donell. Notice that these people actually believe they are mentally superior to others, yet refuse to debate anyone who does not share their views.

I always find it amusing when distinguished members of the Left characterize members of the Tea Party as hateful or paranoid. Generally, they wind up showing their own hate and paranoia in the process. Just take the case of this blogger in “Psychology Today”, as he depicts us and our supposed mental illness:

These tea-party folks seem to most liberals-well, to most of us who live in the “reality community,” or, as I like to call it, “reality”-like crazy types

Well, not only is that pretty poorly written, but what the heck is the “reality community”? Does Kate Gosselin also hate the Tea Party?

Dr Michael Bader then goes on to state his true “empathy” for the Tea Party:

I hate these folks but I also understand them. And, well, uh, I also empathize with them. They share the same psychology as the paranoid patients I treat every day. The only difference is that the paranoid beliefs of the tea-party movement are political while those in my consulting room are of a more personal nature.

Hmm, you hate us? How sad, because we don’t hate you. In fact, we don’t even know who you are. One has to wonder what sort of circles one has to run in to gain access to being a blogger on “Psychology Today”, but I guess Leftism must be a big part of it.

Well first of all, to be “paranoid” in the same way as a patient in a mental hospital is, one must also consider their beliefs to be delusions, no? So what exactly are the delusions of the Tea Party? Lets examine this further:

1. Global Warming is a scam by some people to make money.

Lets ask Al Gore, who has earned 500 million dollars by selling practically meaningless “Carbon credits”. And now, despite the East Anglia/IPCC scandal, and Dr Phil Jones admission that “There has been no substantive Global Warming in 15 years…” it seems that this is hardly a delusion. It is fact.

2. Barack Obama is a Socialist who wants to confiscate large portions of the US economy.

Wow, this is hard one to prove. Well, not really–the fact is that via the stimulus bill we have not gained a single job, and also did not do much to save Banks or 2 out of 3 of United States auto companies. What was accomplished? The Govt took control of some banks and auto companies, and this is in line with Marxism. A delusion? Hardly. Socialists find ways to take over industry, they either demonize it out of business, or they take it outright.

3. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are acting like Dictators.

Closed door sessions to produce a 2700 page Healthcare bill, exclusion of Republicans, ignoring the public will, and using reconciliation on a non-budgetary bill; If this isn’t acting like a Dictator, I don’t know what is. Do they need to ask for martial law?

The accusations of Dr Bader are hilarious. So esconced are his type as to have an Ivory tower superiority that I would hate to think he would also apply to his patients, but that he probably does. He strikes out at a majority of Americans who happen to disagree with his Leftist views, and assumes that we are the sick ones?

A good example of the the true mental illness of the Left is Hollywood. It’s king? Sean Penn of course.

Penn recently angrily defended Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, for well, being a dictator:

“Every day, this elected leader is called a dictator here, and we just accept it, and accept it” said Penn, winner of two Best Actor Academy Awards. “And this is mainstream media, who should — truly, there should be a bar by which one goes to prison for these kinds of lies.”

Only a relatively stupid person such as Sean Penn would say completely opposite remarks in the same statement. Basically, that we should be jailed for saying a Dictator is jailing people. In most minds this would be easily seen as the sign of confusion, but it is old hat for Penn, who recently said this about the “haters”:

“Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.”

Lol, I love it. First he says he wants people jailed for exercising their 1st Amendment right to free speech, then he wishes everyone who disagrees with him to “die screaming of rectal cancer”.

Basically Sean, I think you already make them feel like they have rectal cancer.

    God describes the radical left?
10 “…because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they might believe what is false.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10,11

Michael Savage had some great quotes like this on his show the other night, very good.

“I always find it amusing when distinguished members of the Left characterize members of the Tea Party as hateful or paranoid.”

Agreed. Characterizing all the members of the Tea Party based on the words and actions of a few is wrong. And listening to several good friends (and former Marine buddies) talk, I know that there matters of substance that the Tea Party is bringing to the national discussion. I applaud that. Heck, I even agree with much of what they claim to stand for.

But, the flip side is that there ARE members of the Tea Party that are hateful and paranoid. And they are the ones that make the TP look bad. I know that they are no more the Tea Party than O’Donnell is the Democratic Party, but they are the extreme example critics point to when they are looking to attack.

Site, I would direct you to my latest blog post, “United we Stand”. It defines the fact that we are a diverse group of people with quite a few honest goals which are intended to save the country. Sure, among any group you have a few, for lack of better words, “nuts”. But it is also true that 99% (and I pretty much stand by that unscientific figure) good, honest people. Basically, the Tea Party is normal America. “Larry Scary” O’Donell is doing what the Left always does, demonize their opponents by throwing names around.
The truth is that we invite Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians (and any other individual who cares) to join us. It is our base of beliefs which we stand on. We do not hate the President or Democratic Party, we simply think they have elected individuals so far to the Left they no longer represent most of the American people, much less most Democrats. It amazes me how many people who I know who are Democrats who are strong Constitutionalists, believe in Liberty, in gun rights, freedom of speech, ect. Yet they consistantly vote for people they disagree with. We are simply trying to wake these people up–they are selling their country at pennies on the dollar.
Thanks for the comment, stop by anytime.

Did you really call O’Donell “Larry Scary” in the same sentence that you criticize Democrats for throwing names around? *laughing*

On topic, though, I will say that I find myself moving farther and farther away from the Democratic Party as I see it become more and more extreme. And I have long felt excluded from the Republican Party due to their own extremism. While I am farther left than most of my Marine Corps friends, we all still find that we agree enough on 99% of the things that we need in this country. If I felt that the Tea Party truly represented those ideals, I would quite likely support it. Perhaps I’m just seeing too much of the bad out there.

I’ll spend a bit more time reading around here this weekend, thanks. I enjoy true discussion and appreciate finding it here.

Site, no offense, but the guy was unhinged on the video. It is simply a description of his actions, pure and simple. If a Conservative acted that way, I would say the same thing–histrionics about an opponent leveled in a baseless way is pretty creepy.

I think you define what I was talking about quite well, site. As I said, many Democrats are coming around to a decision on “People over Govt” or “Govt over people” and deciding that they would prefer their children to be in control of our nation. I am glad you take that stance, and can see why you are friends with some great Marines. It is only logical to consider your individual place in this nation over party allegiance. I vote on a candidate based on my beliefs, little more.

      Thanks again, keep checking back!

Dread Pirate is a good friend of mine and we talk (and argue) often. We were discussing issues today over coffee and I had mentioned the idea that democrats are not anti american. That they are instead true patriots with a different set of ideals and understandings of what freedom and democracy is all about. We are on different sides of the track but mostly in the same field that the track lies.

However, this current administration is coming from a place that neither one of use should recognize as American. A blatant attempt to pass law that is unconstitutional and not the will of the people. When the “President” goes on national news and says “I don’t care about the process of congress” we should all be concerned. We should all believe that a foreign entity as emerged in the midst of us. This is not the American way. I’m not asking that Democrats join the Republican party, only that they (and Republicans) join the American way of life.

I can’t really argue that I support everything going on from this administration, because I don’t. But for discussion sake, what makes you say that the law (assuming you mean the health care bill) is unconstitutional. And even if it is, we have the Supreme Court to act as a check and balance system.

(And thanks for the comment about Democrats not being anti-American. I have a lot of disagreements with my conservative friends, but I don’t need to demonize them for it. In my opinion, somewhere between the lunacy of the far right and the far left is the America we all need.)

    Section 8.

    The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

This means all states are meant to be treated equally by the federal government.

    Her is the problem:
Democrats unveiling revisions Thursday to their health care overhaul bill decided to kill the extra $100 million in Medicaid funds for Nebraska that has become a symbol of backdoor deal making. But the 153 pages of changes to the massive health care package include extra money for several other states.

    This is just one example.

    Here is another:
    Section 9.
No bill of attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

Definition: A legislative act that singles out an individual or group for punishment without a trial.

Explanation: If this bill passes and you choose not to have health care or to not provide it to your employees you will be fined by law and without trial.

It is also unconstitutional for the federal government to force people to pay for a service.

Like I have said, I am not asking for Dems to change parties. I’m not asking for Republicans to change parties. I’m asking for americans in general to WAKE UP! The people running the show right now are not AMERICAN! They may have the credentials to show they are but they are not American in their hearts! They may be proven in the future to be traitors to America. I know it sounds extreme but think about what is going on.

    Rock on and Stay Free!
